Who are we?

The National Surgical Skills Society

We are an innovative surgical teaching organisation for medical students, junior doctors and surgeons in training across the United Kingdom.

The National Surgical Skills Society was founded by Ms Francesca Gatta and Prof Mahmoud Loubani in June 2021 at The Suture Centre, a training centre of excellence. The society’s aim is to facilitate exposure to different surgical specialities by organizing hands-on and wet lab teaching sessions. We have collaborated with Ethicon and Medtronic, who have helped us ensure the highest level of training.

Our Next Course

Our next course is our popular chest drain course.

This course includes revision of indications for chest drains, and practical skill sessions on both surgical and Seldinger drain insertion.
